A breast lift ("mastopexy") is designed to decrease drooping of the breasts, while increasing their volume. During your initial consultation, Dr. Mendieta will discuss the various options available to you, including the different incision locations and methods. This includes the new, revolutionary "suture suspension technique."

Some of the varied techniques include an incision around the areola (nipple); around the areola and vertically on the breast; around the areola with a vertical incision and horizontal incision extending to the outer part of the breast; or in an inverted T shape, known as the traditional anchor. Depending on skin quality, amount of droopiness (ptosis) and size of your breasts, Dr. Mendieta may choose to perform the limited scar technique (around the areola). This entails reshaping the breasts on the glandular level, providing the patient with a more youthful appearance and much less visible scarring on the breasts.

Depending on the degree of sagging, our Miami breast lift professional may choose to perform a breast lift by itself or in conjunction with breast augmentation ("augmentation mammaplasty").

However, Dr. Mendieta may opt to perform both breast lift and augmentation with the use of breast implants in order to attain the volume and look you desire. In this circumstance, incisions will be limited to those required for breast enlargement; around the areola, in the breast crease, in the armpit, or through the belly button. This reduces the amount of scarring for the patient.
